UFC 136: Edgar vs Maynard 3 . . .

This upcoming weekend, the UFC is putting on another great event, UFC 136, this time two championship titles are on the line, the light weight championship and the new feather weight championship. For the light weight bout, undefeated Gray Maynard is again challenging Frankie Edgar. The feather weight bout has ultimate fighter veteran, Kenny KenFlo Florian challenging Jose Aldo.

Before UFC 136, Gray Maynard and Frankie Edgar have met in the octagon twice before. The first time, Gray Maynard pulled out a unanimoust decision victory over Frankie Edgar in a 2008 UFC fight night.

The second time the two combatants met, Frankie Edgar had one and defended the light weight title from BJ Penn. In the first round of the fight, Frankie Edgar got caught with a strong punch from Gray Maynard and was dropped. Gray Maynard leapt at the opportunity and did his best to try to finish the fight. Amazingly enough though, Frankie Edgar stayed in the fight and weathered the early storm. Frankie Edgar managed to come back in the fight, and win the majority of the rounds. But the damage done in the first round was incredible and the judges scored it 10-8 for Gray Maynard, ending the fight with a draw and making UFC 136 a very interesting and necessary fight to settle the score.
